I Think I’ll Stay Home (2020)

This piece documents connection during the first 11 weeks of quarantine spring 2020. One of my friends and I would send video chats to each other daily to talk about and process all of the isolation and difficult feelings that came with the pandemic, and the fear and challenges of being mothers of young children at this time. I’ve documented each conversation we had starting on March 13th, 2020 through May 29th, 2020. Each image is a still from a video. I gave myself 5 minutes on a timer to paint each cell which led to 30 hours of painting to complete this piece.
