The 5 x 5 Art Exhibit & Fundraiser brings local art to the public with a one-night exhibit of over 200 artworks. The 5-inch x 5-inch (and 5-inch x 5-inch x 5-inch) artworks are generously donated by area artists and are sold as a fundraiser for Johnson City Public Art. The event is free and open to the public.
August 5th, 2022
5:55 – 9 PM
The Pavilion at Founders Park (105 W. Main St.)
This year’s event will feature over 200 artworks that have been generously donated by over 80 area artists. Both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artworks will be on offer this year, measuring either 5-by-5 inches or 5-by-5-by-5 inches, respectively. Each piece will be sold for $25.
As an extension of the event, seven commemorative fiberglass trains will be featured in a silent auction conducted adjacent to the exhibition space. The trains were painted by local artists for display during Johnson City’s sesquicentennial celebration in 2019, and each piece includes an original design. As they peruse the exhibit, attendees will enjoy a live musical performance by jazz quartet Adrian Nuñez, Hunter Sparks, Joshua Roberts, and Parker Lewis.
Artworks will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
