Brave New Worlds (a playful work with dark intent) is about genetic engineering, one of our many technology triumphs whose full implications we don’t yet understand. Soon the boundaries between humans, nature and technology will be so blurred that we cannot tell which is which. The sculpture is peopled with strange combinations of humans, animals and machines … the “beauteous creatures” of tomorrow’s brave new world.
