A central focal point in the park at King Commons is a large painted mural entitled Wildabout on a wall adjacent to the Atlantic Ale House. Artist Ian Brownlee spent much of the summer of 2016 working on the bold, energetic mural which is now a wonderful addition to the city’s growing public art collection. Selected from more than 30 applicants, Brownlee’s design reflects themes explored throughout the park: sustainability, water mitigation and pollination. His mural includes a dizzying array of native flora and fauna. He also imbued the design with a unique sense of place by incorporating significant architectural landmarks from our region.
