Wildflowers (2020)
Mixed media on canvas
24″ x 24″

From the artist:
I used brushes and palette knives to paint flowers around me. Daisies, black eyed Susan’s and various grasses.

Many of Colleen’s works are replications of the beauty around her. In the Appalachian Mountains, flowers, lakes, bears, fish, and mountains dominate our region, and she paints these things because they are a major part of her life. To her, there is something wonderful about being able to walk outside and seeing a beautiful landscape full of mountains, trees and flowers. One of the best things about life is nature, and she attempts to recreate the feelings that nature gives her in her pieces of art.
