From the artist:
I chose to do wood burning because it’s the art medium that makes me the happiest. Everything from the smell of the wood to all the different colors and textures you can get. I looked at a reference photo for the deer and thought it would be neat if I could draw trees and mountains
under the deer that would fade together into one piece. I chose to draw the mountains and trees because deer live in the wilderness. This piece is important to me because being out in nature is such a beautiful thing to experience. Especially with covid, people are staying at home a lot because of social distancing, but every now and then it’s nice to go outside and smell the fresh air, while experiencing what nature has to offer.
